My Birthday Photos

Well, finally, I found the time to post this one. It take weeks before I managed to do this but anyway, I would like to share you the happenings. As you read in my previous post, my birthday happened few weeks back.

It was a memorable party, with so many guest from our Filipino community. My house was being rampaged with kids screaming, running and playing but it was all fun.

The party was catered by Orly's catering. The foods were all Pinoy foods, no English foods here allowed. The price is reasonable enough for the price of 30 persons.

Well, this is not all about my birthday. It was also Bacon's birthday and her children. Bacon was wearing a very beautiful fairy outfit with matching precious earings, necklace, bracelet, crown and anklet. Everybody like her.

Just have a look at the photos and you will find it marvelous.

Bad Model Priest

This is a disgusting real story of Father Edward Pilarskiego, a real-life Father Jack. He drinks and smokes away the collection money and peppers his sermons with foul language. Not any more, though, after parishioners snapped, dragging him from his pulpit and throwing him out of the church, still clutching a bottle of vodka.

Villagers claimed the 62-year-old cared nothing about the church. 'He was nothing but trouble. Having no priest is better than having that one,' said one resident of Parciaki, in the Mazovia region of Poland.

Parishioners even changed the locks on the church so he couldn't get back in.
With echoes of comedy hit Father Ted and his drunken cohort, Father Jack, Fr Pilarskiego hid inside while they were doing this before making a last-ditch slurring plea for clemency.

All Saints Day (November 1)
All Souls Day (November 2)

I offer my prayers and asking for mercy and forgiveness to God in commemoration of All Souls Day for my dear departed family members,
my father, Dionisio Marcial and my brother, Robert Marcial.
Let us pray for the eternal repose of their souls and eternal life in heaven.

mausoleum of Papa and Bombet

The onset of All Soul's Day in places where the inhabitants are mostly Catholics suggests a deluging in the local markets of assorted candles of colors, shapes and scents and of a variety of flowers freshly picked from a native farm. The hullabaloos in the flea markets reached as far as the super marts and department stores where people can be seen hurrying to and fro, doing a last minute buying of the things they will need in preparing for the occasion. Such a typical Filipino setting indeed and so much like Christmas Eve, the difference is it's not Christmas and it's not for the living. It is All Soul's Day and it's for the dead.

This tradition goes back to ancient years and as history repeats itself so too this popular wont had been passed to one generation after another. But what really is the celebration of All Soul's Day? Do other religious sects have their All Soul's Day celebration? An informal interview was conducted to make way for the beliefs and traditions maintained by different religious sects.

Read on…
Catholics make way for the All Soul's Day
Popularly identified as "All Soul's Day", this is the day set apart in the Roman Catholic Church for the commemoration of the souls of the faithful dead. It falls on the 2nd of November albeit in this country, most Filipinos celebrated it as early as November 1. The tradition is said to have started in the 10th and 11th centuries and was based on the (Catholic) doctrine that "prayers of the faithful on earth may help purify souls in purgatory".

The offering of prayers and masses are solely for the repose of the souls who died not in the state of grace. Prayers and masses are offered to ease whatever pain and suffering they are in. To complement to such thoughtful cause, loved ones offer a spray of flowers and lighted candles. Flowers serve as a living memory reminding us that once these people had remained close to us and they, like us, had once been fascinated by the beauty and color of life. Lighted candles likewise signify that the love, hope and joy they shared with people they had left behind shall be kept forever burning and alive even though they may have found their destiny somewhere or even in the arms of the Heavenly Father.

Halloween At The Warwick Castle

First time I participated the halloween treat this year in Warwick Castle. I was with Ruby, my dear friend from Germany who visited me here. It was a wonderful time of the day in the castle. There was white lady at the top of the hill that looks real. Pumpkins were everywhere, in the grounds and in the footsteps. Chocolates were given away to kids including us...hehehe.

Warwick Castle (pronounced /ˈwɒrɪk/ ( listen) WORR-ik) is a medieval castle in Warwick, the county town of Warwickshire, England. It sits on a cliff overlooking a bend in the River Avon. Warwick Castle was built by William the Conqueror in 1068 within or adjacent to Anglo-Saxon burh of Warwick. It was used as a fortification until the early 17th century, when Sir Fulke Greville converted it to a country house. It was owned by the Greville family, who became earls of Warwick in 1759, until 1978

From 1088, the castle traditionally belonged to the Earl of Warwick, and it served as a symbol of his power. The castle was taken in 1153 by Henry of Anjou, later Henry II. It has been used to hold prisoners, including some from the Battle of Poitiers in the 14th century. Under the ownership of Richard Neville – also known as "Warwick the Kingmaker" – Warwick Castle was used in the 15th century to imprison the English king, Edward IV.

Since its construction in the 11th century, the castle has undergone structural changes with additions of towers and redesigned residential buildings. Originally a wooden motte-and-bailey, it was rebuilt in stone in the 12th century. During the Hundred Years War, the facade opposite the town was refortified, resulting in one of the most recognisable examples of 14th century military architecture.

In the 17th century the grounds were turned into a garden. Warwick Castle was purchased by The Tussauds Group in 1978 and opened as a tourist attraction. It is protected as a Scheduled Ancient Monument[1] and a Grade I listed building.

There will be a birthday party to be held at my house and catering services courtesy of Orly Catering here in Birmingham. I will be attacked with children and I will squeeze them into my little poor house.

I just hope that it will be a joyous celebration. Come and join the fun.
