As I passed by on my way back home from duty in the city centre, I noticed that there were so many stalls erected within the Victoria Square. This was due to the International Food Fair hosted by Birmingham City Council. With over 60 stalls offering a variety of food and drink from around the world, the Food Fair is billed as a “summer sister” to the hugely popular annual Frankfurt Christmas Market.Everything from Spanish paella, Dutch cheeses, German sausages and Iranian baklava to Oriental noodles and Australian game patties will be on offer to try, either to eat at the market or to buy and take home. I bought one of the specialties from Spain which is the paella and it taste good.
The best of British was represented with traditional produce and locally brewed drinks settling alongside with their foreign neigbours.
There were also lots of drinks to offer and entertainment. A pleasant outdoor seating area will provide visitors with the space to relax and enjoy the atmosphere, including background music. The stage will also host live performances on some evenings.
A bar was serving with a variety of wines, champagnes and beers from around the world. I sipped and drink a pintful of beer from Germany.
There will be a continuation of this post. A series again.
